True Wealth was founded in 2007 by Kevin Kroskey, CFP®, MBA with the intention of making a substantial positive difference in our clients’ lives, our employees’ lives, and the communities where we live and work. We strive to help our clients Plan Smarter and Live Better.™
Kevin found that his growing wealth management business was frustratingly underserved and often overcharged by traditional accounting firms. The same too went for most of his business-owner clients. Seeing the opportunity for streamlined and integrated advisory services, True Wealth developed the accounting and tax expertise tailored to the successful, service-based business owner.
Today our team is comprised of accounting, tax, and wealth management professionals with decades of experience working in concert to help you better understand your finances, simplify your life, and make smarter decisions to improve your life and business.
Kevin Kroskey, CFP® - Managing Partner
Kevin grew up in western Pennsylvania (go Steelers!) in a small steel town on the Ohio River. He worked his way through college and graduated from the University of Akron (B.A. Education and M.B.A Finance). He discovered financial services in 2002 and founded True Wealth Design in 2007.
Kevin is married to Brandy who he met while in grad school. They have daughters Aubrey and Cameron and a two Old English sheep dogs. Kevin and his family live in Bath, Ohio, and Naples, Florida.
How would you describe yourself in one sentence?
I’d say I’m optimistic, hard-working, a life-long learner, and ambitious professionally but laid-back personally.
What is something most don’t know about you?
I worked two newspaper routes as a kid and used some of that money to start a sports card business in my teens. I started my professional career as a high school Physics teacher.
What do you do in your free time?
Spend time with my family – home, pool, beach, biking, walks, out to eat; Exercise at the gym; Watch Steeler football.
What are your wardrobe constants?
“Comfortable Chic.” Dress shorts or jeans, T-shirt, Flip-flops, and some sort of hat. (A bald man always needs a hat for cold, rain, sun, or simply aesthetics.)
What is something interesting someone has said about you?
I was once called the Sheldon Cooper of Financial Planning. I suppose there are a couple ways to take that.
What are you proud of?
I have overcome a lot in my life. I’m the oldest of three children, and, looking back on it with mature eyes, we had a rough childhood for various reasons. It took me a while to move beyond this. I am proud to have persevered and achieved success – especially in having loving relationships with my wife (2002), daughters, and siblings, and in making a positive difference in the lives of our clients, team, and community.
